Three Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Award

Announced recently

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The finalists were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.

The champion will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
