The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Propel Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to provide aid to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it fails to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The notable list of musicians appearing on Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the industry. All took part in the September show, which successfully generated a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The track blends a combination of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the campaign have clarified that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These proceeds will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a few million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
